Network Administration Officer

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and security of our organization’s network infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of network protocols, hardware, and security practices, as well as the ability to proactively monitor and troubleshoot network issues. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our network systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure network equipment, including firewalls, routers, switches, access control systems, and CCTV.
  • Regularly monitor and report on network capacity, performance, and equipment configuration.
  • Manage and report on network licensing, maintenance schedules, and subscription renewals.
  • Ensure up-to-date network infrastructure by overseeing hardware and software updates.
  • Maintain and update an accurate network asset inventory.
  • Proactively monitor and troubleshoot network issues to minimize downtime.
  • Analyze network traffic for suspicious activity, and take appropriate action to mitigate threats.
  • Implement security measures to safeguard the network against vulnerabilities and potential attacks.
  • Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform regular network security hardening to align with industry standards such as PCI DSS, ISO, and CIS.
  • Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Line Manager.

Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in network administration.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP).
  • Hands-on experience with network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Proficiency in network management tools and technologies (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Preferred certifications in network technologies (e.g., CCNA).
  • Familiarity with network security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS, ISO 27001).
  • Experience with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
