Job Description

  • Create, implement, administer and enforce policies, procedures and laws required for the Bank to operate in accordance with the law and regulations.
  • Establish and update a Legal and Compliance Policies, Regulations and Procedures.
  • Review and provide opinion based on legal and compliance perspective along with best practice in Banking sector to the Policies, Regulations, and Procedures submitted by Policy Owner.
  • Support management in legal affairs including business and advisory support to the management team, contract drafting, review, and negotiating in ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Manage the Compliance Program.
  • Track and handle compliance and legal issues, conduct intelligence of compliance law changes, conduct compliance training.
  • Ensure the Bank complies with laws and regulations.
  • Provide legal advice/counsel and support on all legal and compliance matters.
  • Develop, implement and manage legal and compliance risk minimization strategies and initiatives.
  • Manage litigations, artibrations, mediations, etc.
  • Perform other tasks as required by Senior Supervisor.

Requirement:

  • Bachelor Degree in Law and/or related field;
  • Experience in Legal and Compliance at least 3 years; The experience in Banking Sector is an added advantage;
  • Experience in AML/CFT at least 1 year;
  • Experience in establishing Policy, Regulation or Procedure;
  • Excellent communications skills and proficient in English (written and oral);
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of team;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and is resourceful;
  • Strong legal experience in corporate and commercial matters;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks adhering to logistics, timescales and deadlines;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Strong organizational skills, delivering on deadlines and to budget;
  • Self-motivation and initiative;
