Server Administration Officer

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Server Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our server infrastructure to ensure the highest levels of performance, availability, and security. This role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving, alongside a strong knowledge of various server operating systems and hardware.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, update, and troubleshoot systems/servers.
  • Check system hardware availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency.
  • Conduct periodic system maintenance including cleaning (both physically and electronically), disk checks, routine reboots, data dumps, and testing.
  • Comply with organization systems administration standard operating procedures.
  • Manage system/server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
  • Monitor and maintain system/server configuration.
  • Monitor and maintain system/server licensing, maintenance, and subscription renewal.
  • Oversee installation, implementation, configuration, and support of system components.
  • Diagnose & repairs faulty system/server hardware.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
  • Install antivirus software all computer system and oversee software license renewals.
  • Perform asset management/inventory of information technology (IT) resources.
  • Review and perform server security hardening all server and operating system to align with security standard such as PCI DSS, ISO, CIS, etc.
  • Others assigned by Line Manager.

Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in server administration.
  • Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, Unix).
  • Experience with server hardware and software (processors, memory, storage, virtualization).
  • Proficiency in server management tools and technologies (e.g., Active Directory, VMware, Oracle KVM, Hyper-V, PowerShell, Bash).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certification in server technologies (e.g., MCSE, RHCE) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of server security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS, ISO 27001).
  • Experience with server automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
